Walter’s externally cooled micro-drill DB133 Supreme has established itself in the global precision component processing field. Now, the company from Tübingen, Germany, is demonstrating two new developments in micro-drills: solid carbide micro-drills with internal cooling DB133 Supreme, sizes 5, 8 and 12 times diameter three Type; and the miniature guide drill DB131 Supreme 2 times the diameter of the drill tip and diameter tolerance are perfectly matched.
Both drill bits cover a diameter range of 0.7 mm to 1.984 mm, and pilot drills are also available in sizes from 0.5 mm. The combined effect is beyond your imagination. With the new groove design, the chips are shorter and the discharge is more reliable. Special cutting edge treatment process can achieve excellent workpiece surface quality and ensure longer tool life.
Walter’s new product further improves the matching of the length-diameter ratio and the required drilling depth, thus giving birth to a series of miniature drill bits. With its strong cutting edge and optimized structural design, this series provides maximum machining stability. Both of these Walter mini drills are available in WJ30EL material, with an ultra-fine grain carbide and AlCrN overall coating. DB133 Supreme can also provide WJ30ER material, which uses ultra-fine grain carbide and AlCrN tool head coating.
The drill bit and pilot drill can be used with emulsion or cutting oil and are suitable for all ISO workpiece material groups. In addition to the watch industry and medical technology, the application areas of Walter products also involve general machinery manufacturing, mold industry, and energy and automotive industries.
